Subject of the commemorative coin:
The 100th anniversary of the first Women's Day in Belgium

Description of the design:
The central part of the coin depicts Isala Van Diest and Marie Popelin, the first female doctor and the first female lawyer in Belgium respectively. Their names are shown below these depictions on either side of the year 2011, with the attributes of the professional groups to which they belonged above them. Above the depictions, respectively to the left and right of the indication of the issuing country ‘BE’, are the mint master’s mark and the mint mark. The twelve stars of the European flag are depicted in the border around the central part of the coin.
