Subject of the commemorative coin:
 150th anniversary of the Belgian Red Cross

 Description of the design:
 The inner part of the coin features a cross with the number “150” in the centre. The inscriptions “Red Cross” and “Croix-Rouge” are positioned vertically and horizontally inside the cross respectively. Surrounding the cross are the Brussels mint mark — a helmeted profile of the Archangel Michael — the mint master’s mark, the year “2014” and the country abbreviation “BE”. The coin’s outer ring depicts the 12 stars of the European flag.
