 Description of the design:
 From a stylized pillar sprout shoots that grow upwards. The shoots symbolize the expansion of the European Union, the pillar the fertile base. Next to the pillar are the letters "EU". At the top is the year "2004". Together with this year, twelve stars form the frame of the image.
