Subject of the commemorative coin:
 100 years of self-government of the Åland region

 Description of the design:
 The theme of the coin is the archipelago landscape consisting of relief shapes. The lower half of the design depicts a sea route with buoys, as well as the bow of a boat and a hand holding a compass. The horizontal centre line of the design depicts the sea horizon. The upper half of the design depicts the sky and clouds. At the bottom, in a semi-circle, is the inscription “100 YEARS OF SELF-GOVERNMENT OF ÅLAND” in Finnish. At the top, in a semi-circle, is the inscription “100 YEARS OF SELF-GOVERNMENT OF ÅLAND” in Swedish. Between the inscriptions, two diamond-shaped signs are placed centrally, one on the left and one on the right. Above the diamonds, on the right, is the inscription “2021 FI” and on the left, the mint mark of the Mint of Finland. The outer ring of the coin depicts the twelve stars of the European flag.
