 400th anniversary of Domínikos Theotokópoulos (El Greco)

 Description of the design:
 The central part of the coin features a portrait of Domínikos Theotokópoulos. In the background is a typical figure from his oeuvre, illustrative of his technique. On the left are the year “2014” and the characteristic signature of the artist (“Domínikos Theotokópoulos Epoíei”). On the right is the mint mark of the Greek National Mint. The entire design is surrounded by the inscription “DOMENIKOS THEOTOKOPOULOS 1541-1614” and the name of the issuing country “HELLENIC REPUBLIC” in Greek. The coin’s outer ring depicts the 12 stars of the European flag.
