 100th Anniversary of the First Sitting of Dáil Éireann

 Description of the design:
 The design depicts the first sitting of Dáil Éireann in the Round Room. The government of the Irish nation began on 21 January and the session was conducted entirely in the Irish language to reflect the symbolic nature of the gathering. The Round Room of the Mansion House arches above the assembled members of the nation’s first elected Dáil. The words ‘An Chéad Dáil’ in the centre of the design and the year ‘1919’ at the top are printed in traditional uncial type. At the bottom are the name of the issuing country and the year of issuance ‘ÉIRE 2019’. The coin’s outer ring bears the 12 stars of the European Union.
