 Description of the design:
 The design shows the bust of Giuseppe VERDI, seen from the left in three-quarter profile, with on the left side the letter I superimposed on the R (the monogram of the Italian Republic) and below it the date 1813 and on the right side an R (the monogram of the Roman Mint) and below it the date 2013. In the exergue MCC (the monogram of the designer Maria Carmela COLANERI) and G. VERDI. The coin's outer ring features the twelve stars of the European flag.
