 Description of the design:
 The inner part of the coin features a number of youth flags, together with the mint mark "R" and the year "2011". These elements are surrounded by the Roman numerals "XXVI" and the letters "GMG", the abbreviation of Giornata Mondiale della Gioventù (World Youth Day) (upper edge) and by the name of the issuing country, "CITTA' DEL VATICANO" (lower edge). The coin's outer ring depicts the twelve stars of the European Union.
